CURRENT PROJECT

Google Sketchup 3D Modeling

1. You will design a 3D model of an original building. This can be a house, an office building, hotel, skate park, warehouse, etc. 

2. You will choose an architectural structure from your life (your home, your school, a building from your neighborhood, etc.) and you will create a 3D digital model of it using sketchup. You must bring in photos of the structure that you choose (1 of each side) and sumbit the photos with your final project. Grades will be based on similarities.

GUIDELINES

1. 3D Model must be done in feet and inches

2. Incorporate texture and/or color on all sides

3. Does NOT have to include modeling for the inside of the building, but can.

Final 3D image is a good representation of the original work. All parts are present and seem to represent those in the original work.

Final 3D image has a likeness to the original image. Some parts may be missing/rendered poorly.

Craftsmanship

Final image is well-done. It is neat and the student followed all the guidelines for the project.

Final image is well-done overall but lacking in some areas. Student made an attempt to follow the guidelines but fell short in some areas.

Final image seems sloppy, poorly crafted or is incomplete. Student did not follow guidelines for the project. Objects are out of proportion.

SketchUp Knowledge and Ability

Student demonstrated a high level of understanding and usage of Google SketchUp and significant improvement was evident.

Student showed an accomplished level of understanding and usage of Google SketchUp and improvement was shown.

Students showed little or no understanding and little improvement in using Google SketchUp.

Sketch

The sketch is complete with measurements and is drawn to scale.

The sketch is missing a few key details and measurements.

The sketch is incomplete and missing most necessary detail.

Time Management

 

Student spends a great amount of time on the project and is focused only on it.

 

Student is on task almost all of the time.

 

Student has to be reminded to stay on task and does not use classroom time wisely.
